About the Author
Frankly, Im lazy. And picky. And those
two traits are what gave birth to my cookbooks. Its
amazing how much ingenuity can be employed in an effort to avoid
needless work!
I come from a family of cooks. My great-grandma supported
herself as a boardinghouse cook for many years. My grandma
(her daughter) was a professional cook, including many years as
a wedding caterer. I got to help from the
earliest times I can remember
great fun!
I was also struck from a young age at how my grandma could use absolutely
everything. If she was peeling peaches, they were turned
into pies, tarts and jams. Even the peelings went to
the mulch pile, which would return to the land as fertilizer. Giving
back is a solid philosophy and its my hope that empty cans
are returned to recycling centers--just keep a grocery bag in your
kitchen.
As for me, Im a writer and lifetime cook living in Los Angeles,
probably hatching my newest plan to save time..
