Baked Ziti

I am all about not waiting for water to boil. With this recipe you don’t need to boil the pasta separately. Just mix everything in a bowl and then bake. Now that’s comfort food.

One 26-ounce jar your favorite spaghetti sauce
     One 16-ounce carton sour cream
           (reduced fat is okay)
One 14-ounce can beef broth or
one cube/teaspoon beef or vegetable bouillon
dissolved in 1 3/4 cup hot water

1 cup shredded Mozarella or Jack cheese,
     divided
1 cup shredded real Parmesan cheese,
     divided
One 16-ounce package ziti or other
tube pasta such as small macaroni

Preheat over to 400°F. In a large mixing bowl combine spaghetti sauce with sour cream. Stir in broth. Add 1/2 cup Mozarella or Jack cheese, and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Stir in ziti/pasta and blend well. Pour out into 9x13-inch baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for one hour.

After one hour, take out baking dish, uncover (carefully—very hot steam), and sprinkle with remaining cheeses. Return dish to oven without cover and bake 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.
